College Profile: Carson-Newman College

College Profiles provides a more in-depth look at the college. I've toured Carson-Newman on a couple of occasions. The beautiful 90-acre campus is set in the Appalachian Mountains. Many of the buildings give you the feel of the Antebellum South. But the facilities are relatively modern on the inside.

Facilities include five computer labs, a word-processing lab, a 180,000-volume media services center, two theaters for drama production, two art galleries, 23 individual art studios, a student-run television station and the Student Activities Center. The Carson-Newman Music Building boasts the Thomas Recital Hall, one of the finest music facilities in the Southeast. Students participate in softball, tennis, flag football, basketball, sand volleyball and other sports on the numerous campus athletic fields and courts. There are also a number of inter-collegiate athletic programs at Carson-Newman.
