Remember TGIF---Thank God it's Friday? Well, on campuses across America, it's now TGIT.

Friday classes have become almost extinct, creating a three-day weekend that starts Thursday night. And college students have started traditions, such as Stanford's Pub Night, to commemorate the unofficial end of the week.

In response, college officials are beginning to reinstitute Friday classes, albeit slowly. Will this trend eventually mark the end of Thirstdays? Students tend to vote with their feet, so I doubt it.

The real question is, How long before Wednesday becomes Winesday?
