Picking a College

So you applied to 14 colleges, and soon you'll get letter from half or more of them tell you they've accepted you. How do you pick? Counselor's Corner has some tips online to help you pick a college.

There are several factors to consider. Location is perhaps the biggest. Do you want your college to be 25 miles from Mom and Dad, or do you want it to be on the other side of the country? Another big factor is the size college you want to attend. Do you want your profs to know you by name at a small (maybe private) college? Or do you want to go to a Land grantlinks university with 25,000 students?

There are better ways to pick a college...


Counselor's Corner details the issues on several other factors you should consider: environment, the academic focus of a school, costs, housing alternatives, and the activities available through clubs and organizations on campus. There's a lot to consider in making the choice.
