Scholarships Dot Com has a blog that check out a couple of times a week. They're a pretty up to date source of info on financial aid. Having worked in a college financial aid office myself, I appreciate the quality of their work...

So I really enjoyed the piece they published earlier this week on Common Scholarship Myths. They looked at what I think are the three biggest misconceptions that students have about scholarships.

Those misconceptions: All scholarships are competitive (which is most definitely not true), getting a scholarship will just reduce my federal and state financial aid (not!), and it's really easier just to get a job.
