Led by Ferdinand Schlapper, the head of Health Services, Boiselinks State University may soon be the first four year university to ban smoking completely from its campus. Even designated outside "smoking areas" would be eradicated.

Schlapper shares his views on the controversial proposition :"High-achieving students would be drawn to a healthier learning environment," said Schlapper, who thinks the entire state also should be smoke-free. "I want to eradicate this from the planet."It will be interesting to see how this plays out in a university setting, the quintessential atmosphere for debating personal liberties.
