i think that the athletic director should choose for your own school and not for all the schools. my squad can't do any basket tosses because a girl fell from a straight up extention last year. i think you should only be band until we get a stunt down without any mistakes!

In my opinion, each squad knows it's own capabilities. If the squad cannot perfect a simple basket toss than maybe it should not be a squad in the first place. There is more than enough girls to help spot out those stray balls and players. They athletic directors can make a space just for the cheerleaders to stunt and besides, when there is a timeout. There shouldn't be any balls flying in the air. If there is, maybe the coach should have a talk with the basketball coaches. Injury is just something that goes along with any sport, it just so happens that cheer leading looks much more dangerous to the untrained eye.

Banning these things on a basketball court would be sorry dumb to me! You are just as likely to hurt yourself on a track as you are on a court! Our crowd loves it whenever we get thrown or flipped on tossed on top of each other! If they banned this for everyone really I would have to reason to cheer and thats really sad because I love it and I love being tossed but then again we also have guys but still anyone is capable of doing to right!

I'm am a cheerleader, and love it, if they seriously want to ban basket tosses, then they are just jealous because they want to be that person doing all that stuff. I think that this is wrong.

I am a varsity cheerleader and i truly think that if they ban the tosses then they are stupid! we practice and practice to get the basket toss the right way! we love to do it and so do the fans it is so amazing to see there faces when we throw stunts dont take it away!!!!!

I think that each squad knows their capibilities. No cheerleader, no coach, and no athletic director, would ever make a squad do something that they don't have the ability to do. Each squad spends tons of time practicing the stunts. We know cheer safety, and none of us are stupid enough to try things we're not able to do. I agree with D'neice because each of us love to cheer and love to stunt. And our fans definately love seeing us to big stunts. I think that if they ban basket tosses and pyramids, then they're banning basically all of what cheerleaders do.

as a cheerleader, i know how important it is to please the crowd. thats our job. i think that if the squad can handle it, than they should stunt with the best stunts they can pull off. if they practice the stunts, and perform them and there are repeated injuries, than the squad needs to back off just a little, until they can handle it.

i dont kno why they think that stunting is so dangerous i mean it is but everyting is dangerous and most for the girls doin the stunts know the risks they are taking but want to take the risks because they enjoy doing what they are doing. i think the decision on whether to allow stunting should be made ny the coaches, cheerleaders, and cheerleaders' parents because the adminstrators don kno us or what we can do so why should they be making decisions for us??

I was once a cheerleader at a high school level and there were a lot of injuries but its a risk you take as an athlete. every sport has risks and by deciding to participate you are taking those risks. I do think that the stunt groups should be experienced and properly trained but maybe banning basket tosses at basket ball games is a good idea. I do think the final decision should be up to the coaches, cheerleaders and the cheerleaders parents. If they want to do it let them. they are taking the risk for the sport the love and enjoy. They should not be restricted if they can do it! Go cheerleaders of america!!!

i as a cheerleader and a flyer think that though a athlete may be a professional there are still precautions to be taken. i think that the rule should stand for everyone. i know that i don't want to do an awesome stunt but get hurt in the process

i am captain of the varsity squad i am on and i agree with many on here a squad knows their own capabilities, and they know how far they can push themselves,if you want to ban something ban it for your own school and leave the rest of us alone!

Hey Cheerleading is AWESOME! i dont mean to sound mean or anything but schools that band basket tosses is probably their fault that their girls fall. In my school(which is totally aswesom) anyways, we have never dropped a girl before, we've never dropped any of our fliers on a basket toss too. I'm just saying that if you want to do basket tosses get the stunts that you need to get done in order to do basket tosses, so that you will be able to do them. Have Good Luck With Them!
