Yale Music Students Get Free Ride
Posted on November 7th, 2005

(Source: Yale University)Thanks to an anonymous gift of $100 million, students at the Yale School of Music won't have to worry about that pesky nuisance called tuition. As a result, graduates will leave the school unencumbered by hefty loans while navigating a competitive and unpredictable job market.
About 200 students attend the Yale School of Music, which charges almost $24,000 per year. Yale competes with other top conservatories, such as Julliard, Eastman and Hartt, and now will boast a competitive advantage over the field. The school awards three graduate professional degrees: Master of Music (M.M.), Master of Musical Arts (M.M.A.), and Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.).
A free Yale degree? Not a bad gig if you can get it.
